Cockatrice

Virtual tabletop for multiplayer card games

Visit

Cockatrice is an open‑source, multi‑platform virtual tabletop that lets users play tabletop card games over a network. It includes a server component that enforces game rules to prevent cheating, and a client that supports both online multiplayer and a single‑player mode for offline practice or deck testing. Users can build decks within the client or import existing ones, and the built‑in Oracle tool provides access to a card database.

The software targets players of collectible and custom card games who want a free, community‑maintained environment for remote matches. Its design separates the server from the client, allowing anyone to host a private Servatrice server or join public servers hosted by others. The client runs on macOS and other platforms supported by the underlying Qt framework.

Development is driven by contributions from volunteers, with translation support via Transifex and a public GitHub repository for bug reports and feature requests. Documentation, including a quick‑start guide and technical reference, is available on the official wiki.
