Dorso

Posture monitoring app

Source

Dorso runs on macOS and monitors a user’s posture in real time, using either the built‑in camera through Apple’s Vision framework or motion data from AirPods Pro, Max, or third‑generation AirPods on macOS 14 and later. When the app detects a slouch, it applies a progressive blur to the screen, providing a visual cue to straighten up; the blur clears instantly once good posture is restored. All processing is performed locally, so no cloud service or account is required.

The interface lives in the menu bar, offering quick access to status, calibration, sensitivity settings, and the ability to pause monitoring. It supports multiple displays, optional Dock visibility, and includes an analytics dashboard for tracking posture trends over time. Installation can be done via Homebrew or by downloading a signed, notarized DMG from the release page, and the app requests only the necessary camera or motion‑fitness permissions.
