DroidCam OBS
Use your phone as a camera directly in OBS Studio
The DroidCam OBS plugin lets users treat a smartphone as a webcam inside OBS Studio, transmitting video over Wi‑Fi or USB. It supports macOS, Windows, and Linux, handling both Intel and Apple silicon, and can deliver video up to 4 K resolution with hardware‑accelerated decoding. The plugin integrates directly with OBS without requiring additional licensing or external dependencies.
Installation involves placing the plugin files in the user’s home directory on macOS, or using the provided installers for Windows and flatpak packages for Linux. Once installed, a DroidCam source can be added in OBS, and the phone’s camera feed appears as a regular video source that can be mixed with other inputs. The plugin also offers a browser‑source fallback for StreamLabs Desktop, using a URL that streams the phone’s video at selectable resolutions.
The project is maintained as a stable release, with a history of version updates that address compatibility with newer OBS builds and operating‑system architectures. It provides a straightforward way for content creators to leverage their phone’s camera for live streaming or recording without needing dedicated hardware.
