FastRawViewer opens RAW image files and renders them instantly, showing the data exactly as a converter will interpret it rather than relying on embedded JPEG previews. By processing the RAW data on‑the‑fly, it lets photographers evaluate exposure, dynamic range, focus, and color fidelity without delay, enabling rapid culling and sorting based on the true image content.

The application includes a set of RAW‑specific tools such as histogram analysis, shadow boost, highlight inspection, focus peaking, per‑channel view, exposure compensation, white‑balance adjustment, and contrast curves. These features allow users to preview how a converter will extract detail from the RAW file and to make preliminary adjustments that are respected by downstream Adobe conversion workflows.
