ffsend

Quick file share.

Source

ffsend is a command‑line client for the Send file‑sharing service. It encrypts files locally before uploading them to a Send host, producing a private link that can be opened in a browser or retrieved with the same tool. The utility supports uploading individual files, directories (archived on the fly), and downloading shared content, with optional password protection and configurable download limits or expiry times.

The program is aimed at users who need fast, scriptable file transfers from terminal environments, including Linux, macOS, Windows, FreeBSD, and Android. It offers additional conveniences such as automatic URL shortening, QR‑code generation, and a history of previously shared items, while keeping memory usage low through streaming encryption.

ffsend can operate with the default public Send host or any compatible custom host, and it provides commands to inspect, delete, or modify shared files. It reports errors clearly and is distributed as a stable, open‑source crate on crates.io.
