FMD Server
A server to communicate with the FMD (Find My Device) Android app, to locate and control your devices.
The software provides a self‑hosted web server that pairs with the accompanying Android application to locate and remotely manage Android devices. It receives signals from the mobile client and presents a web interface where users can view device location, trigger actions such as ringing, locking, or wiping, and adjust settings. The server runs on standard hardware and can be deployed on a personal network or any hosting environment the user controls.
Target users are individuals who want a private, free solution for tracking lost or misplaced Android phones without relying on third‑party services. Because the server is open source and distributed under GPL‑3.0, it can be inspected, modified, and extended to fit personal security or automation requirements.
What distinguishes this tool is its combination of a dedicated Android client and a complementary web backend that the user hosts themselves, eliminating the need for subscription fees or external cloud dependencies. The project is marked as stable and includes a ready‑to‑use web interface for device control.
