LibreServer
Home server configuration based on Debian.
LibreServer is a Debian‑based system that lets individuals set up a personal internet server on modest hardware such as an old laptop or a single‑board computer. It bundles a collection of common services—including email, chat, VoIP, wikis, blogs, and social networking tools—so users can host their own communication and content platforms without relying on external providers.
The project targets people who want to regain control over their online interactions, whether for family, friends, or small communities, and who prefer a self‑hosted solution that can also be accessed via onion addresses for added privacy. Its design emphasizes a lightweight, self‑contained stack that can be installed and managed directly by the operator.
LibreServer is released under the AGPL‑3.0 license, is free of subscription fees, and is positioned as a self‑hostable, libre utility. The code is open source, maintained as a stable release, and the community provides documentation, an admin guide, and a Matrix room for support.
