Ghost Pepper provides on‑device voice dictation and meeting transcription for macOS computers equipped with Apple Silicon. Users hold the Control key to speak, and the software converts speech to text locally, allowing the result to be pasted into any application. It also records calls, generates a transcript, and creates an AI‑summarized markdown file saved on the user’s machine.

The tool incorporates local WhisperKit/FluidAudio for speech‑to‑text and a on‑device Qwen LLM for smart cleanup, which removes filler words and corrects self‑corrections automatically. Multiple model sizes are available, ranging from a 75 MB English‑only Whisper tiny model to larger multilingual models supporting over fifty languages. All processing occurs on the Mac; no audio or text is uploaded, and the project contains no telemetry.

Ghost Pepper is distributed as a free, open‑source application under the MIT license. It targets developers and privacy‑conscious users who need reliable, offline speech transcription and note‑taking without relying on cloud services.
