GTKWave
GTK+ based wave viewer
GTKWave is a waveform viewer built with GTK+, supporting Unix, Windows, and macOS platforms. It can read a range of simulation dump formats, including LXT, LXT2, VZT, FST, GHW, as well as the standard Verilog VCD and EVCD files, and presents the signal data graphically for analysis. The software is distributed as a stable long‑term support release (3.3.x) with source code for both GTK3 and legacy GTK1/2, and is available via flatpak, Homebrew, and SourceForge.
Targeted at engineers and developers who need to inspect digital simulation results, GTKWave provides interactive navigation, zooming, and signal selection capabilities within a traditional desktop interface. Its cross‑platform design and support for multiple dump formats make it suitable for workflows that involve Verilog or other hardware description language simulations.
Development continues on GitHub, with bug reports and contributions managed there, while older LTS versions remain hosted on SourceForge. Documentation is provided in a PDF manual, and community resources address macOS compatibility for recent operating system releases.
