The IFTTT MCP server enables the Claude AI assistant to interact with more than a thousand third‑party services directly from a conversation. By configuring the Claude connector in IFTTT, users can issue plain‑language prompts that trigger actions such as sending Slack messages, creating tasks in Todoist, updating Google Docs, or controlling smart‑home devices like Philips Hue without manually copying data between apps.

The system translates user descriptions into live IFTTT Applets, allowing new automations to be created on the fly or existing ones to be discovered and activated. This workflow integration lets AI‑driven assistants act as a bridge between natural‑language input and concrete service actions, streamlining repetitive tasks and enabling real‑time responses across a broad ecosystem of apps.

The protocol, called Model Context Protocol (MCP), defines how Claude safely accesses and manipulates data from connected services. It requires a paid IFTTT plan, authentication of the desired service, and activation of the toggle within Claude’s settings, after which the AI can invoke any of the supported integrations during a chat.
