Jasper
Issue reader for GitHub
Jasper provides a macOS‑only interface for reading, tracking, and discovering GitHub issues. It leverages GitHub’s search syntax to let users define custom queries—such as all issues they created, pull requests for a specific repository, or bugs with a particular label—and then streams the matching results for easy browsing. The application highlights unread issues, comments, and review comments, and displays unread comment locations on a mini‑map to aid navigation through long discussions.
In addition to basic issue metadata, Jasper shows open/closed status, labels, milestones, assignees, and pull‑request review states, including reviewer approvals or change requests. Users can search locally stored issues using a subset of the GitHub query language, which also serves as a navigation tool within the app. Integration with GitHub notifications synchronizes read status across devices, and optional connections to GitHub Projects and team‑watch features extend its utility.
Keyboard shortcuts, customizable on macOS, enable rapid movement through issue lists, opening items, marking unread entries, and bookmarking. These controls allow users to manage large volumes of issues without relying on mouse interaction.
