Leader Key

The application provides a macOS‑only launcher that activates via a user‑defined “leader” shortcut and then accepts a sequence of additional keys to trigger actions such as opening apps, muting audio, or resizing windows. Rather than typing a name, users press the leader key followed by a short, predictable combo, allowing nested shortcuts that behave like fighting‑game inputs. Configuration is performed through a menu‑bar settings panel where the leader key and individual shortcuts are defined in a JSON file.

Key features include support for a custom URL scheme that lets external tools—such as Alfred, Raycast, shell scripts, or Keyboard Maestro—activate the launcher, reload its configuration, or navigate to specific actions programmatically. The URL commands cover configuration management, window control, settings access, and navigation with optional preview mode.

The project is stable and open source, distributed via direct download or Homebrew. While a newer project incorporates its functionality, this launcher remains available for users who want a lightweight, key‑sequence‑based alternative to traditional application launchers.
