MacHacha
Split archives into smaller parts and join them when requested
The utility provides a simple way to divide large files into smaller pieces and later reconstruct them. It works by recognizing common split extensions such as .0, .000, .001, .exe and .machacha, and can automatically prompt for a format when splitting. Users can drag a file onto the application to initiate either operation, and the program will warn about potential corruption when joining.
It supports a range of split/join formats, including its own MacHacha format, Hacha, WinSplit, FastSplit, Split&Concat, HJSplit, and RAR multi‑segment files. The MacHacha format preserves Mac‑specific resource forks and metadata, while other formats are compatible with Windows and Unix/Linux tools, allowing cross‑platform exchange without needing a Mac to reassemble the parts.
The software runs on macOS, offers AppleScript support for batch processing, and can be used to fit archives onto media of limited capacity, comply with ISP size limits, or share files across different operating systems. It is released as a stable, core macOS application.
