Miniflux
Minimalist news reader.
The software is a self‑hosted feed reader that supports Atom, RSS, and JSON Feed formats, allowing import and export via OPML or URLs. It can handle enclosures such as podcasts, videos, music, and images, and even plays YouTube videos directly within the interface. Articles are organized with categories and bookmarks, can be shared publicly, and are searchable using a Postgres‑backed full‑text index. A built‑in Readability parser extracts the main content of original articles, and users can apply custom CSS selectors, rewriting rules, or regex filters to include or exclude items.
Privacy and security are emphasized: pixel trackers are removed, tracking parameters stripped from URLs, and external links are opened with strict referrer and sandbox policies. A media proxy and optional YouTube‑nocookie domain prevent third‑party tracking, while a Content Security Policy and Trusted Types enforcement block unwanted scripts. Optional features include disabling HTTP/2, custom user‑agents, cookies, and proxy use for additional anonymity.
The interface is minimalistic, responsive, and optimized for readability, offering light and dark themes, keyboard shortcuts, and optional touch gestures. Integration points cover more than twenty third‑party services for saving or sharing articles. Installation is straightforward via a static binary, package, or Docker image, and the project is released under the Apache 2.0 license.
