Munki provides a suite of tools that enable macOS administrators to control software installation and removal across client machines. By pairing the tools with a web‑server‑hosted repository of Apple‑format packages and associated metadata, administrators can define which applications should be present on each Mac and automate their deployment.

The system supports both standard Apple packages and drag‑and‑drop disk images as installer sources, allowing a range of software types to be managed. It is designed for large‑scale environments, and is already used by organizations worldwide to maintain software on tens of thousands of macOS devices.
