NotePlus

NotePlus provides a WYSIWYG Markdown editor that lets users create personal notes, to‑do lists, and other text‑based content while keeping files synchronized with private cloud services such as iCloud, Google Drive, and Dropbox. The editor is built natively for macOS in Swift, avoiding Electron or embedded webviews, which results in a small binary (~10 MB) and fast launch times.

In addition to note‑taking, the application includes a lightweight chat client for large language models. It supports a broad set of AI providers—including OpenAI, Google Gemini, Anthropic, Ollama, DeepSeek, GitHub Copilot, and others—through a “bring your own key” approach, and stores API credentials in the Apple Keychain. All communication goes directly to the selected LLM without intermediate tracking, and chat history is saved locally as files.

The software emphasizes privacy and portability: no hidden trackers, data is never collected by the developer, and both notes and chat logs can be moved or imported via standard file‑system operations. It also implements the Model Context Protocol, allowing extensibility and future integration of additional AI features such as contextual attachments and image generation.
