NX Studio provides a workflow‑oriented environment for viewing, processing and editing Nikon‑captured photos and videos on macOS. Its interface is arranged to follow typical production steps, offering detailed editing tools for still images, including LCH controls that let users fine‑tune lightness, chroma and hue of any color, as well as a Flexible Color Picture Control for broader color adjustments.

For advanced image creation, the suite includes a merge function that combines pixel‑shift shots to produce high‑resolution results while reducing moiré, false colors and noise. Video editing and file conversion capabilities are also built in, and users can choose data‑saving formats such as sidecar files or original‑file saving to match their workflow.

NX Studio integrates with other Nikon applications like Nikon Transfer 2, NX Tether, and the Nikon Imaging Cloud, enabling seamless transfer, tethered capture and preset management, including XMP/IPTC metadata handling.
