Peergos provides a peer‑to‑peer, end‑to‑end encrypted filesystem that lets users store, sync, and view personal media and documents without central surveillance. Files, folders, and metadata are encrypted with post‑quantum cryptography, and access control is enforced cryptographically, so only designated contacts can read shared items. The platform also offers a calendar, news feed, task lists, chat, and an encrypted email client, all operating within the same private space.

The service is self‑hostable and available under an AGPL‑3.0 license, with a free tier that requires no subscription. Users manage a portable identity that can be used across Windows, macOS, Linux, and Android clients, and can migrate between servers while preserving links, friends, and data. Offline access to recent files is supported, and secret links enable sharing with non‑users.

Peergos is positioned as a “private web” where the user controls where data resides and who can see it, aiming to eliminate tracking, ads, and data leakage while maintaining a familiar web‑app experience.
