Playdate Mirror
Application that streams gameplay audio and video from your Playdate
The application streams both audio and video from a Playdate handheld console to a desktop computer in real time. By connecting the device, it sends the game’s visual output and sound to macOS, Windows, or Linux machines, allowing the user to view the gameplay on a larger screen. The stream can be recorded or broadcast, making it straightforward to capture Playdate sessions for later viewing or live streaming.
In addition to mirroring, the software lets the computer act as an input source. Standard game controllers, a mouse, or other PC peripherals can be mapped to the Playdate’s controls, providing alternative ways to interact with games that may be more accessible for some users. The setup process is documented on the project’s homepage, with a video guide that walks through connecting and using the mirroring feature.
The program is classified as a core macOS component but also supports Windows and Linux distributions such as Debian, Ubuntu, Fedora, and openSUSE. It is marked as stable, indicating a mature release suitable for regular use.
