pyLoad

pyLoad is a pure‑Python download manager that runs on Linux, macOS and Windows. It provides a modern web interface reachable at http://localhost:8000, allowing users to start, pause and organize downloads from a browser or via command line. The core is lightweight and can operate headlessly on devices such as NAS units, routers or home servers, storing downloads in a configurable directory and keeping user data in a separate config folder.

The manager supports a wide range of sources, including one‑click hosting sites, cloud drives and common video platforms. Its plugin system supplies hundreds of hoster decrypters, captcha‑solving integrations and optional add‑ons such as notifications, schedulers and extractors. Premium account handling and link decryption are built in, and the web UI offers default credentials that should be changed on first use.

pyLoad is self‑hostable, free‑tier and subscription‑free, released under the AGPL‑3.0 license. It can be installed via pip, with optional tags to include extra plugin dependencies, and provides a documented API for external tools to interact programmatically. The project is stable, open source and designed for extensibility and low resource consumption.
