QLMobi
Quick Look plugin for Kindle ebook formats
The plugin integrates with macOS Quick Look to display Kindle ebook files directly in Finder. It reads formats supported by libmobi—including prc, mobi, azw, azw3, azw4, and some pdb files—producing a thumbnail from the embedded cover and a content preview without opening a separate reader.
Installation can be performed via Homebrew Cask or by copying the compiled QLMobi.qlgenerator into the user or system Quick Look directory. The source is an Xcode project that depends on libmobi, and the binary includes support for Apple silicon (arm64). Users can reload the plugin with qlmanage r or address quarantine restrictions on newer macOS releases.
The project is released under GPL v3 or later and maintains a changelog documenting updates such as faster thumbnail generation, handling of encrypted documents, and compatibility improvements. Issues can be reported on the GitHub repository.
