QuickNFO

QuickNFO is a macOS Quick Look plugin that enables the system to generate both previews and thumbnails for NFO files. It converts the original text encoding to UTF‑8 using libiconv, then renders the content with WebKit, supporting HiDPI displays such as Retina screens.

The plugin is built as a .qlgenerator bundle that can be installed by copying it into the user’s Library/QuickLook folder, either after compiling the Xcode project or by using the provided pre‑compiled binary. Once installed, NFO files appear with visual thumbnails in Finder and display a formatted preview when invoked via Quick Look.

Targeted at users who need to inspect NFO documentation without opening a separate editor, QuickNFO streamlines file browsing on macOS by integrating directly into the native preview workflow. The current release is marked as stable and is limited to the macOS platform.
