Rectangle provides keyboard‑driven window management for macOS. Users can move and resize application windows by invoking configurable shortcuts or by dragging windows to screen edges and corners, where they snap to predefined areas. The tool supports macOS 10.15 and later on both Intel and Apple Silicon hardware.

The application includes a large set of default shortcuts and allows users to define custom key combinations for any window size or position. It also recognises portrait display layouts, enabling consistent snapping across different screen orientations. For those who prefer mouse interaction, windows can be dropped onto snap zones to achieve the same layout adjustments.

Rectangle is positioned as a free, open‑source successor to the Spectacle app, offering a comparable experience with additional shortcut options. A paid “Pro” tier extends the feature set with faster snapping and further customization, while the core version remains stable and fully functional for everyday window handling.
