Rowmote Helper

Rowmote Helper runs on macOS 10.4 and later and acts as the host component for the Rowmote Pro remote control system. It receives input from an iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad running the Rowmote Pro app and translates those signals into mouse, keyboard, and media‑control commands for the Mac. The helper must be active on the computer to enable functions such as sleeping, waking, scrolling, and gesture handling.

The software is intended for users who want to replace a physical mouse and keyboard with a wireless, multitouch trackpad and keyboard provided by their iOS device. It supports a wide range of native macOS applications—including Front Row, iTunes, Keynote, QuickTime, Safari—and many third‑party programs such as VLC, Plex, Kodi, and Spotify, allowing playback control, presentation navigation, and general system interaction.

Rowmote Helper also extends control to jailbroken Apple TVs, permitting remote operation of both built‑in and third‑party apps on that platform. The overall solution offers a unified remote interface for media, presentations, and everyday Mac tasks without requiring line‑of‑sight hardware.
