SessionRestore

SessionRestore is a native Safari extension for macOS 14 and later that automatically saves the complete set of open windows and tabs as a browsing session. It stores session data locally and synchronizes preferences and saved sessions via iCloud, allowing users to recover their tabs after a crash, restart, or when switching devices.

The extension offers an intuitive interface for creating, naming, and organizing sessions with custom tags, notes, and screenshots, all of which are instantly searchable by name, URL, tag, or note content. Users can drag and drop windows or tabs to merge or split sessions, edit session contents, and export or import sessions for archiving. A configurable global hotkey and contextual menu options provide quick access to session actions.

Designed to be lightweight and fast, SessionRestore integrates directly into Safari’s UI, supporting both Apple Silicon and Intel Macs, and includes features such as autosave, customizable notifications, and compatibility with Safari Technology Preview.
