Solarized
Clean and beautiful color theme. Works well with iTerm, JetBrains products, Vim etc.
Solarized is a sixteen‑color palette that provides a consistent visual experience across terminal emulators, editors, IDEs and other applications. The scheme is built on precise CIELAB lightness relationships and a fixed hue wheel, allowing the same colors to appear balanced on both calibrated and uncalibrated displays under varied lighting conditions. It includes eight monotone shades and eight accent colors, each defined for use in a wide range of environments.
The palette is distributed in formats for many popular tools, including Vim, Emacs, IntelliJ IDEA, NetBeans, TextMate, Visual Studio, Xcode, iTerm2, OS X Terminal, Putty and others. Individual projects host their own repositories or subfolders, and the main site offers downloadable palettes for graphics programs such as Photoshop, GIMP and the Apple Color Picker. Users can also extract the raw color values to create custom themes for unsupported applications.
Solarized targets developers and power users who want a coherent, low‑contrast color scheme that reduces eye strain while preserving readability. Its design emphasizes reproducibility across platforms and lighting, making it suitable for both terminal‑based workflows and graphical development environments.
