spotatui

Spotify client.

Source

spotatui is a terminal‑based Spotify client written in Rust and built on the Ratatui library. It provides a text‑only interface for browsing, searching, and controlling playback, and adds features such as native audio streaming, synchronized lyrics, and real‑time audio visualizations. The client runs entirely in a console window and is lightweight, using roughly 78 MB of RAM for basic streaming and only slightly more when visualizations are enabled.

The software is intended for users who prefer command‑line tools or need a low‑resource Spotify experience, including those on Linux systems or using Windows Subsystem for Linux. It supports Spotify Premium accounts for playback, offers optional Discord Rich Presence, and can be configured via a YAML file in the user’s config directory. An opt‑in global song counter records anonymous play counts without collecting personal listening data.

spotatui is a community‑maintained fork of spotify‑tui, actively developed with new features and a stable release status. It is available as a CLI binary, can be installed from crates.io, and encourages contributions through the project’s repository.
