SpotMenu
Spotify and iTunes in your menu bar.
A minimalist macOS menu‑bar utility that shows the currently playing track from Spotify or Apple Music directly in the menu bar. It provides a hover overlay with play/pause, skip, and album‑art controls, and supports global keyboard shortcuts for playback actions. The app can like or unlike Spotify tracks via the Spotify Web API, and it automatically updates as playback changes.
Users can select the active player automatically or force Spotify or Apple Music, and they can switch between a full or compact display. Visuals such as tint color, blur intensity, and opacity are configurable, and the menu‑bar layout can hide or show artist, song title, and various icons. All settings are accessible through a right‑click context menu.
SpotMenu is built with Swift and SwiftUI, requires macOS 13 or later, and is distributed as a signed, notarized app with Sparkle‑based automatic updates. It is open source under the MIT License and can be installed via GitHub releases or Homebrew.
