TAL-Drum

TAL‑Drum is a multi‑platform audio plug‑in that emulates vintage drum machines while adding modern sampling capabilities. It lets users load, drag and drop audio files onto up to 64 pads, each supporting eight layered mappings with optional velocity ranges, and provides voice groups, round‑robin and cycle modes for varied playback. The interface offers 16, 32 or 64‑pad views, pad naming and colour, and fast batch editing via Ctrl‑click selections.

In addition to sample playback, the plug‑in includes a lo‑fi resampler, time‑stretch modes (high‑quality Crisp, Smooth, Vintage AK4I Cycle), and built‑in lo‑fi effects that alter sample rate and bit depth. A slice editor can auto‑slice or BPM‑based slice audio, and a modulation matrix supplies an LFO, spline envelope and two AHDSR envelopes per mapping. Users can record audio directly into the plug‑in and access more than 20 factory kits and 600+ samples from various contributors.

The tool supports up to 16 stereo outputs, a single parametric EQ, and basic amp and AHDSR controls, leaving further processing to the host DAW. It is distributed as VST3, AU, AAX and CLAP formats for macOS, Windows and Linux, and installs by copying the plug‑in to the appropriate location without additional runtime components.
