Textream

Free teleprompter with real-time word tracking and voice-activated scrolling.

Visit

A free, open‑source macOS teleprompter designed for anyone who speaks on camera, including streamers, interviewers, presenters, and podcasters. It overlays the script in a Dynamic Island or floating window, keeping the text visible only to the speaker while remaining invisible to the audience. The app supports classic auto‑scroll, voice‑activated scrolling that pauses during silence, and real‑time word tracking that highlights each spoken word, with the ability to jump to any word by tapping.

The interface offers several accessibility options: multiple fonts—including a dyslexia‑friendly typeface—six highlight colors, and five text sizes, allowing users to tailor the display to their reading preferences. Scripts can be displayed fullscreen, on an external monitor, or via Sidecar on an iPad, and a director mode enables remote control of the teleprompter.

Textream runs on macOS 15+ for both Apple Silicon and Intel processors, requires no sign‑up, and is distributed under an open‑source license, making it a stable, freely available tool for real‑time script guidance.
