TopNotch
Utility to hide the notch
TopNotch is a macOS utility that modifies the appearance of the menu bar and conceals the display notch. It turns the menu bar black, providing a uniform visual area across the top of the screen, and can optionally add rounded corners to the wallpaper for a smoother look. The application also supports macOS Dynamic Desktop Wallpapers, updating its adjustments automatically when the background changes.
Designed to operate unobtrusively, TopNotch runs in the background and monitors wallpaper changes, ensuring the notch remains hidden and the menu bar retains its black color without user intervention. It works with multiple displays and virtual spaces, applying the same visual modifications across all connected screens.
The software requires macOS 11.0 or later and is offered as a free download. It is maintained by the team behind CleanShot, a macOS screen‑capture tool.
