TriliumNext Notes
Hierarchical note taking application
TriliumNext Notes is a hierarchical note‑taking system that organizes content in a tree‑structured navigation pane. Each node can contain rich text, images, attachments, and links, while also supporting protected, archived, and versioned notes. Users can rearrange the tree, hoist subtrees for focused work, and employ bookmarks and search to locate information quickly.
The application offers extensive import and export capabilities, including Markdown, Evernote, and OneNote formats, and provides a REST‑style API for programmatic access. It supports desktop installation on macOS, as well as server deployments via Docker, NixOS, or traditional manual setups, with optional proxy and TLS configurations. Mobile and web clipper frontends enable capture of content from external devices.
Advanced features include attribute inheritance, template relations, custom scripts, and widget extensions, allowing users to build task managers, weight trackers, or other specialized note types. The platform also provides multi‑factor authentication, synchronization, and a theme gallery for visual customization.
