Ved is an external editor that works directly with the VVVVVV levels folder, allowing users to create and modify levels without extensive setup. It supports both the full VVVVVV game and the free Make and Play edition, and includes a quick play‑test button so designers can test any part of a level instantly.

The editor adds a range of tools not found in VVVVVV’s built‑in editor, such as undo/redo, a fill bucket, custom brush sizes, selection stamps, and the ability to move or copy entities and rooms across levels. It also offers several map views for whole‑level overviews, a script editor with syntax highlighting and flag management, a searchable notepad for notes and changelogs, automatic backups, and a music file editor with a graphics viewer tailored to VVVVVV assets.

Ved’s plugin system lets users extend its functionality, and ongoing updates continue to refine its feature set. It is a macOS‑only, stable‑maturity tool aimed at level designers who need a more comfortable and powerful workflow for VVVVVV projects.
