Vesktop is a desktop client for Discord that replaces the official application with a custom build. It ships with Vencord preinstalled, providing users with a lightweight and faster experience while keeping Discord from accessing system resources. The client also adds support for Linux screen sharing with audio and Wayland, enhancing multimedia functionality on that platform.

The software targets users who prefer a more privacy‑focused Discord experience and who run macOS as a core platform, though it also offers Linux support. It is positioned as a stable, community‑maintained alternative to the official client, with a roadmap that includes future features such as global keybinds.

Installation is handled through a dedicated website, and the source can be built manually using Git, Node.js, and pnpm. On Linux, a small C++ helper library called LibVesktop is used to emit D‑Bus events, with prebuilt binaries provided for common architectures, while users may compile it from source if desired.
