Viseron

Viseron runs as a self‑hosted network video recorder that processes video streams locally, avoiding any cloud dependency. It captures video from cameras and applies AI‑based analyses such as object detection, motion detection, and face recognition, allowing continuous monitoring of homes, offices, or other premises.

The system is packaged as a Docker container and includes a web‑based configuration editor, making initial setup straightforward. Its architecture is component‑driven; users can enable or disable individual features through the Component Explorer, tailoring the solution to specific surveillance needs.

Viseron leverages hardware acceleration when available, supporting CUDA, Google Coral Edge TPU, Jetson Nano and similar devices to improve processing efficiency. The project is released under the MIT license, is open source, and is maintained as a stable, subscription‑free utility.
