The application places a compact Chinese lunar calendar directly in the macOS menu bar, allowing users to view lunar dates at a glance without opening a separate window. It offers a straightforward visual representation of the lunar calendar, updating automatically to reflect the current day.

Two implementation approaches are provided. The primary version uses the official NSStatusItem API, which fixes the icon’s position in the status bar. An alternative setup combines CLCLauncher with CLCMenuExtra, leveraging the undocumented NSMenuExtra API to make the icon behave like native system icons, supporting drag‑and‑drop repositioning and removal via Command‑drag.

The project is stable and targeted at macOS users who need quick reference to the Chinese lunar calendar while working, providing a minimal, always‑available reference without additional configuration.
