Xcodes.app provides a graphical interface for macOS that lists all Xcode releases from the Xcode Releases database and the Apple Developer website, allowing users to download and install any version with a single click. The download manager uses aria2 to split files into up to sixteen connections, offering faster transfers and automatic resume on network errors. Once installed, a version can be activated through xcode‑select, and the app displays release notes, OS compatibility, SDKs, and compilers.

The tool also handles ancillary components such as Apple runtimes, platform SDKs, and Apple Silicon versus Universal variants, installing them on demand. An experimental mode can speed up the unxipping step, and the UI supports both dark and light appearance as as security‑key authentication. Localization is community‑driven, covering dozens of languages.

Xcodes is distributed as a notarized, Developer‑ID‑signed macOS app, installable via Homebrew cask or manual download, and requires macOS 13 for recent releases. It targets developers who need to manage multiple Xcode installations for testing, compatibility, or migration purposes.
