Disk Jockey

Disk image creator and analyser for retro computers or emulators

Visit

Disk Jockey is a macOS utility for creating and examining disk images used by vintage computers and their emulators. It supports a wide range of formats, including Macintosh device and volume images, HFS, MFS, Disk Copy 4.2 and 6 (NDIF), ISO, Toast, Apple II SP2SD, ProDOS, DOS 3.3, 2IMG, UCSD Pascal, Atari ST TOS (raw, .ST, .MSA), Amiga ADF and HDF, and images for Akai samplers, among others. Users can generate blank images, convert images between compatible emulator formats, extract and inject partitions, and rescue files with their resource forks.

The application also provides inspection tools: files and directories can be saved to the host system, the internal structure can be exported as JSON, and a hex viewer lets users explore raw data. Graphic formats such as Degas, Degas Elite, NEOChrome, Tiny Stuff and Spectrum 512 can be displayed and exported as PNG. Keyboard shortcuts and menu integration streamline common tasks.

Designed for hobbyists, developers, and preservationists working with retro hardware or software emulation, Disk Jockey offers a stable, free solution that runs on older macOS releases while remaining extensible for future enhancements.
