Immich
Photo and video backup solution directly from your mobile phone (alternative to Google Photos).
The software provides a self‑hosted service for backing up, organizing, and viewing photos and videos directly from mobile devices. It offers automatic upload when the app is opened, selective album backup, and the ability to download assets to a local device. Users can browse media through a web interface that includes metadata display, map integration, and searchable tags such as objects, faces, and EXIF information.
Multi‑user support allows several accounts with shared and private albums, while administrative tools enable user management. Features include facial recognition, clustering, memories, public sharing, favorites, and a virtual scroll for efficient navigation. The system also handles raw formats, LivePhoto/MotionPhoto playback, and provides offline access on mobile.
The project is open‑source under the AGPL‑3.0 license, requires no subscription, and can be installed on personal servers. Documentation, installation guides, and a demo are available, and the community contributes translations in many languages.
