Inventaire
Collaborative resources mapper project, while yet only focused on exploring books mapping with wikidata and ISBNs.
Inventaire lets individuals and groups keep a catalog of books, recording details such as ownership, lending status, and availability for sale. Users can add entries manually or by linking ISBNs to Wikidata records, enabling richer metadata for each title. The platform displays books on a map, showing which items belong to nearby users or communities, and supports sending requests to borrow or lend specific works.
The system is designed for collaborative use within coworking spaces, associations, book clubs, or any network of friends who want to share physical titles. Each user can see the inventory of their own collection as well as that of others in the same geographic area, facilitating peer‑to‑peer lending and borrowing without a central library.
Inventaire is a self‑hosted, open‑source application released under the AGPL‑3.0 license. It runs without subscription fees, offers a free tier, and is positioned as a stable utility for building community‑driven book inventories.
