Papyrus
Unofficial Dropbox Paper desktop app
Papyrus provides a native desktop client for the Dropbox Paper web service, allowing users to access and edit their Paper documents without opening a browser. It runs as a wrapped Electron window that loads the official Paper site and adds standard desktop shortcuts for creating new documents and folders. The application is packaged for macOS and can be installed via Homebrew Cask or by downloading a signed installer, with the option to place the app in the system Applications folder.
The tool is aimed at individuals who regularly use Dropbox Paper and prefer a dedicated desktop experience on macOS. It offers familiar keyboard bindings—Cmd/Ctrl + N for a new document and Cmd/Ctrl + T for a new folder—accessible through the File menu as well. Because it simply embeds the web interface, all Paper functionality remains available while providing a standalone window.
Papyrus is open‑source under the MIT License, with source code available on GitHub. Developers can clone the repository, install Node dependencies, and build the app for macOS, Windows, or Linux using provided npm scripts. Contributions are welcomed, and the project is considered stable at version 1.0.3.
