The application provides a cross‑platform, dual‑pane file manager that runs on any operating system with Java 11 or later. It enables basic file operations such as copy, move, rename and batch rename, and can handle email attachments directly from the interface. Users can open multiple tabs, set universal bookmarks, and store credentials for remote connections.

It supports a wide range of filesystems, including local volumes, FTP, SFTP, SMB, NFS, HTTP, Amazon S3, Hadoop HDFS and Bonjour, as well as archive formats like ZIP, RAR, 7z, TAR, GZip, BZip2, ISO/NRG and Debian/Deb. Cloud storage services such as Dropbox and Google Drive are accessible, and the program can calculate checksums for files. The user interface is fully customizable with configurable toolbars, themes and keyboard shortcuts, and it is available in many languages.

The software is open source and distributed under a free‑tier license, with stable releases for macOS, Windows, Linux (deb and rpm), FreeBSD and other Java‑compatible systems. Community support and contributions are coordinated through GitHub and a public chat channel.
