Nudge

Nudge is a macOS‑only application written in Swift and SwiftUI that prompts users to install system updates. It supports macOS Big Sur 11 and later and replaces an earlier Python‑based version, offering multilingual interfaces and custom deferral options. The program can operate in a simple mode with minimal prompts or a standard mode that displays richer information, and both light and dark themes are available.

The software automatically checks the Simple Organized Feed for Apple Software Updates (SOFA) to determine the latest macOS releases, enabling fully automated update enforcement by default. Administrators can configure the level of user deferral and customize the user experience through settings documented in the project wiki.

Nudge is aimed at macOS administrators who need a reliable way to encourage or enforce operating‑system updates across managed devices, particularly in environments that require multilingual support and a native macOS UI. It is considered stable and ready for production use.
