Orca
Generate images of interactive plotly charts
Orca is an Electron‑based command‑line tool that renders Plotly visualizations—such as plotly.js graphs, Dash apps, and dashboards—into static image files and reports. It can run as a local server, invoked directly with commands like `orca graph`, or be used through Docker, npm, Conda, or standalone binaries for macOS, Windows, and Linux. The executable is placed on the system PATH during installation, after which users can generate images by supplying the appropriate arguments.
The application serves as the backend for Plotly’s Image Server, enabling automated export of interactive charts for documentation, publishing, or further processing. It is distributed under the MIT license and maintained by the Plotly team. Although support in Plotly.py is slated for removal after September 2025, Orca remains available for existing workflows and can be installed via several package managers or Docker images.
