Privileges is a macOS‑only application that lets users obtain temporary administrator rights without converting their account to a permanent admin. Designed for enterprise environments, it operates offline and integrates with MDM solutions, allowing administrators to define time‑limited privilege windows for tasks such as installing or removing software. The tool can also be controlled via a command‑line interface, supporting Touch ID, AppleScript, smart‑card/PIV tokens, webhooks, and status‑bar indicators.

Typical users are IT departments, developers, and standard‑user employees who need occasional elevated permissions while maintaining the security benefits of a non‑admin account. By granting rights only for a configurable interval and revoking them automatically at login, the application follows security best practices and adds an extra layer of protection against persistent admin exposure.
