qBittorrent
Free cross-platform bittorrent client with a feature rich Web UI for remote access.
qBittorrent is a BitTorrent client written in C++ with the Qt toolkit and built on the libtorrent‑rasterbar library. It offers a graphical interface similar to µTorrent, supports Unicode, and includes extensions such as magnet links, DHT, PEX, local peer discovery, encrypted connections, and IPv6. The client can resolve peer countries using a free IP‑to‑Country database and provides features like sequential downloading, torrent creation, and fine‑grained control over trackers, peers, and bandwidth scheduling.
The software runs on all major operating systems—including Windows, Linux, macOS, FreeBSD, and OS/2—and is available in roughly seventy languages. A built‑in AJAX‑based Web UI enables remote management of torrents, while RSS feed integration, advanced download filters, and a searchable engine allow users to discover and automate content retrieval.
qBittorrent is released under GPL‑2.0, is self‑hostable, and does not require a subscription or tiered pricing. It is maintained by volunteers, signed with public keys for verification, and provides community support through forums, an IRC channel, and a public bug tracker.
