Sleep Aid
Monitor computer's sleeping habits
Sleep Aid monitors a Mac’s sleep behavior, recording when the system actually enters sleep, when it pretends to be asleep, and what events interrupt or prevent sleep. It presents this information in a visual history viewer and a sidebar that details apps, system settings, OS updates, restarts, and other factors that cause wake‑ups or keep the machine in an “insomnia” state. A menubar item provides a quick snapshot of the most recent sleep event and any current blockers.
The tool is aimed at users who want to understand and reduce unnecessary energy consumption on their Mac, improve battery life on portable models, and diagnose common sleep‑related issues such as unexpected wake‑ups, screen or keyboard illumination, or warm devices in bags. It runs on macOS 10.13 through 15, supporting both Intel and Apple Silicon hardware, and requires an admin account.
Sleep Aid is positioned as an efficiency‑focused utility that uses minimal CPU while active, offering a trial period and being verified as safe by Apple. It helps users refine sleep settings, resolve problems, and lower their energy footprint.
