Sonora

Sonora is a macOS music player that emphasizes a clean, minimal interface while offering visual album grids instead of long text lists. It leverages Core Animation for smooth interactions and integrates the SFBAudioEngine library to handle a wide range of audio formats. Users can type anywhere in the app to perform instant searches across albums, artists, songs, and mixes, and a global search window with a configurable hotkey allows quick playback without disrupting workflow.

The player features a central queue that can be edited on the fly, with the ability to save the current order as a mix. Social integration includes Last.fm scrobbling and sharing options for Twitter, iMessage, and Email. Sonora is open source, built with CocoaPods and optional pre‑compiled libraries, and invites community contributions to address bugs and add enhancements.
