TikZiT

TikZiT provides a graphical interface for creating and editing diagrams that are expressed in PGF/TikZ, the LaTeX drawing language. Users can add and manipulate nodes and edges, apply styles, insert labels, merge elements, and define boxes with multiple input or output wires. The editor also supports previewing diagrams with custom LaTeX code and exporting the results as image files.

The application stores its native format as a subset of TikF/TikZ, allowing the saved files to be included directly in LaTeX documents without further conversion. Users can edit the underlying TikZ source for fine‑grained control over properties such as node shape, edge routing, and styling. Keyboard shortcuts facilitate edge bending and other common editing actions.

TikZiT is distributed as a desktop program for macOS, Windows, and Linux, with additional availability as a Visual Studio Code extension. Pre‑built binaries and package manager options simplify installation, while the source can be built manually if desired.
