ToolReleases
Utility to notify about the latest Apple tool releases (including Beta releases)
ToolReleases runs in the macOS status bar and periodically fetches Apple’s public RSS feed for tool releases, including beta versions. It formats the retrieved items into a list that can be opened with a single click, and it issues local notifications and a badge on the status‑bar icon whenever new releases appear. The app also offers a keyword‑based search, allowing users to filter the list by terms such as “iOS beta” or “macOS Big Sur,” while still notifying about all new releases regardless of the filter.
The utility is intended for developers, testers, or anyone who needs to stay current with Apple’s tool updates without manually checking the developer website. It runs automatically in the background, refreshing roughly once per hour, and can be launched at login for continuous monitoring.
Installation is supported via Homebrew cask or manual download of the signed macOS bundle, and updates are delivered through the application’s settings. The software is released under the BSD 3‑Clause License and requires macOS 11 or later.
